924 Engine

The 924 was designed in the early 70's during the gas crisis as well as a growing concern of the environment. To keep up to date with the growing concerns, they backed the ignition timing off to cope with lower grade fuels, lowered compression and put a cam with little overlap with the theory that this would help with emmisions. Performance suffered greatly from these decisions.
